We have received the news with sorrow that there were casualties and injuries as a result of a suicide bomb attack perpetrated in Sadr City area of Baghdad. We convey our condolences to the friendly and brotherly people of Iraq, wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and speedy recovery to the wounded.

We strongly condemn this heinous terrorist attack, perpetrated at a time when there are strong signs towards ensuring peace, security and stability in Iraq after long years of conflict environment.

Such attacks will not hinder the efforts towards attaining lasting stability in Iraq. Turkey will continue to provide all kinds of support to Iraq to this end.
