Our Embassy served from 1993 to 2013 in a building allocated to our country by institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The architect of the building which is assumed to be built in 1893 is not exactly known, but it is believed to be Hans Nimecek. The building, which belongs to objects whose architecture reflect the cultural and historical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was once the center of the Institute for Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage of Sarajevo. H.E. Ambassador Şükrü Tufan (1993-1996), H.E. Ambassador Mehmet Kazım Görkay (1996-1998), H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Kamil Erozan (1998-2002), H.E. Ambassador Melek Sina Baydur (2003-2005), H.E. Ambassador Osman Bülent Tulun (2006-2009), H.E. Ambassador Vefahan Ocak (2009-2011) and H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız (2011-2014) have served in the Embassy building in question.

The plot in the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, which hosts in one place the buildings of chancery and residence, was allocated to our country in December 2005 and its construction began according to the project selected as a result of the competition held in 2006. After the completion of the construction, the move to our Embassy took place on 3 August 2013 and following the title deed procedures that were completed on April 22, 2014 our building was registered as state property.

On May 26, 2014, our Embassy has been opened officially with a ceremony in the presence of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović, high officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the staff of our institutions and organizations, representatives of the Turkish community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the large number of guests. H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız (2011-2014), H.E. Ambassador Cihad Erginay (2014-2016) and H.E. Ambassador Haldun Koç (2016-2021) have served in our current Embassy.

Our Embassy, located in a representative space that befits our country, continues its work in the most beautiful part of Sarajevo, at Vilsonovo Setaliste on the bank of the river of Miljacka.
