H.E. Ambassador Girgin joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992 and worked in the departments responsible for the Middle East, Arms Control and Disarmament and South Asia. He was assigned abroad to Turkish Embassies/Permanent Delegations in Russia, Jordan, NATO/Belgium, Afghanistan and UNESCO/France.
After working as Deputy Director General for South Asia, he served as Ambassador to Pakistan between 2013-2017.
He was Director General for the Balkans between 2018-2021 and is Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina since April 2021.
